Women in the Science of Applied Psychophysiology & Biofeedback Discussion Forum

About Our Discussion Forum
The AAPB Women in the Science of Applied Psychophysiology & Biofeedback Discussion Forum was created to highlight incredible research contributions, clinical achievements, lift the voices of junior researchers, and address unique circumstances of women in the field. We also seek to play a role in shifting the lens from illness to include wellness orientation in research of menarche, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause and broadening emergent interest in sex influence/differentiation in clinical and normative data bases.
This forum offers open discussion, in a safe space, on opportunities/challenges unique to women in our field. We will also brainstorm ways AAPB can provide meaningful connections and resources for ongoing support.
This forum meets online three times per year and once per year in-person at AAPB’s Annual Scientific Meeting.

Discussion topics include:
• Positive history of women leading AAPB
• Community as an essential part of women-delivered healthcare, both historically and presently
• Women and the state of politics
• "Nothing about us, without us"
Email [email protected] any time there is a particular subject you would like our facilitators to address at the next forum. This information will remain strictly confidential, for consideration as part of the discussion agenda.
AAPB Human Library
Women have historically been underrepresented in science, healthcare, technology, and engineering fields. Visit the AAPB Human Library profiles, dedicated to our "barrier breakers." Our intention is to celebrate and honor the empowering stories of those women who have paved the way for future generations. AAPB honors all women’s accomplishments in scientific progress, science leadership, science policy, science communication, and student mentorship.
